ratio=3:4

total money=2100rs

money with each of them=3x and 4x

         so,

               3x+4x=2100

                7x=2100

                   x=2100/7

                      x=300

now,

                 orphanage had=3x=3*300=900

                   blind school had=4x=4*300=1200

this is the answer...

in order to check you can add,

                                               900+1200=2100..

hope this helps..

Solution:

_______

Method I :

Sum = Rs 2100

to be distributed in ratio 3 : 4

Let the money distributed be 4x and 3x

So, 4x + 3x = 2100

⇒ 7x = 2100

⇒ x = 2100/7

⇒ x = 300

The money for orphanage = 3 × 300 = 900

The money for the blind school = 4 × 300 = ₹ 1200

Method II :

Let the total money be the sum of ratios i.e. 3 +4 = 7

now,

the share of the orphanage = 3/7 × 2100 = 3 × 300 = ₹ 900

the share of the blind school = 4/7 × 2100 = 300 × 4 =  1200
