a school collected rupees 2100 for the charity. it was decided to divide the money between an orphanage and a blind school in the ratio 3:4.how much money did each receive?

ratio=3:4
total money=2100rs
money with each of them=3x and 4x
         so,
               3x+4x=2100
                7x=2100
                   x=2100/7
                      x=300
now,         
                 orphanage had=3x=3*300=900
                   blind school had=4x=4*300=1200
this is the answer...
in order to check you can add,
                                               900+1200=2100..
