A school decided to award prizes to their studens for two values "honesty and truth". Sum of prizes is 12 and whose squares have the differences 48. Find the number of prizes for each value .Which value you prefer to be awarded most ?

According. to que
H+T=12 (eq.1)&
H^2-T^2 = 48(eq.2)
from eq1
H=T-12
put in eq.2
(12-T)^2 +T^2=48
144+t^2+t^2+24t=48
which gives
t= 3 &t=-16
but t=3 as -ve is not possible
therefore t=3 nd h=9
