A school hall has the dimensions 30 m, 12 m and 6 m. Find the number of children that can be accommodated, if each child requires 8 m of space.

Given dimensions of school hall.

So, volume of school hall = product of its dimensions

                                          = 30 * 12 * 6

                                          = 2160 m³

Space occupied by each child = 8 m³

Let n children occupy the complete room (no space left).

Space occupied by n children = 8*n m³

This total space occupied by children equals the space of the room.

Therefore,

8n = 2160

n = 270

270 children can be fitted in the given room.
