100- 40 = percentage of boys = 60

so 60/100 * 1800 =. no of boys which is 3 ×360 = 1080

it is given that there are 1800 students in total

out of the total, 40% of them are girls

so it would be 40/100 x 1800. (40% = 40/100)

so,

40/100*1800 = 720 girls

therefore the number of girls = 720

number of boys will be,

total number of students - number of girls

1800 - 720

1080 boys

therefore the number of boys = 1080
