8 periods => 45 mins

6 periods =?

$8 \times 45 = 6 \times x$
$x = 8 \times 45 \div 6$
$x = 60 \: minutes$

8 periods=45 min each
6 periods=x min
8×45=6×x
360=6x
360÷6=x
60=x
The school would have each period of 60 minutes if it would have 6 periods
