Answer:

A school has only three classes compressed of 40, 50 and 60 students respectively. In these classes, 10%, 20% and 10% students respectively passed in the examinations.

First find the 10% of 40.

\frac{10}{100}\times40=4

100

10

×40=4

4 student passed in the first class.

Find the 20% of 50.

\frac{20}{100}\times50=10

100

20

×50=10

10 student passed in the second class.

Find the 10% of 60.

\frac{10}{100}\times60=6

100

10

×60=6

6 student passed in the third class.

Total number of students passed: 4+10+6=20

Total number of students are: 40+50+60=150

Now find the percentage of students passed in the examination.

\text{Passed student percentage}=\frac{20}{150}\times100=13.33\%Passed student percentage=

150

20

×100=13.33%

Hence, the passed percentage is 13.33%
