Given :  A scooter acquires a velocity of 36 km/h in 10s just after the start. It takes 20s to stop.

The ratio of its acceleration and retardation is n.

To Find :  n.

Solution:

velocity of 36 km/h

= 36 * 5/18  = 10 m/s

a = ( v - u)/t

or v = u + at

a = ( 10 - 0 )/10  = 1  m/s²

Retardation = ( 10 - 0)/20  = 1/2  m/s²

ratio of its acceleration and retardation   =  1/(1/2)  = 2

Hence n = 2

Value of n is 2
