1st case
u =0
v = 36 km/hr = 10 m/s
t = 10 sec
as, v = u + at
⇒10 = 0+ 10a
⇒a = 1 m/s²
2nd case
u = 36 km/hr = 10 m/s
v =0
t = 20 sec
as, v= u+at
⇒0 = 10 + 20a
⇒20a = -10
⇒a = - 0.5 m/s²
negative shows retardation.
