- Final velocity (v) = 0 m/s (as it brought to rest)
- Time (t) = 10 seconds
To find :
- Retardation
According to the question,
Note : We have ti change 36 km/h into m/s. So,it will be 10 m/s.
By using Newtons first equation of motion,
➞ v = u + at
Where,
- v = Final velocity
- u = Initial velocity
- a = Acceleration
- t = Time
➞ Substituting the values,
➞ 0 = 10 + a × 10
➞ 0 - 10 = 10a
➞ - 10 = 10a
➞ - 10 ÷ 10 = a
➞ - 1 = a
So,the retardation is 1 m/s².
