A scooter moving at a speed of 20 m/s is stopped by applying brakes which produce a uniform acceleration of, -0.5 m/s2. How much distance will be covered by the scooter before it stops.

therefore, a= 20-10/4

a=2.5m/s^2

so first find time:

a=v-u/t

t=v-u/a

t=0-20/0.5

t=40s

now s= ut +1/2 at*at

20*40 +1/2*0.5*40*0.5*40

20*40+200

800+200=1000m

so the scooter covers 1000m before it comes to a halt
