A scooter wheel makes 50 revolutions to cover a distance of 8800 cm . Find the radius of the wheel .

heya;

first we will divide 8800 by 50
so that gives us 176

therefore 176 is the circumference of the circle

circumference=2πr
176=2×22\7×r
176×7=44r
1232\44=r
r=28

Solution :


Distance travelled = Number of revolutions X circumference


circumference =  \frac{distance \: travelled}{number \: of \: revolutions}

2\pi r =  \frac{8800}{50}

i.e \: 2\pi \:r = 176

2 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times r = 176

r =  \frac{176 \times 7}{2 \times 22}

r = 28 \: cm


Therefore radius of the wheel = 28cm.
