In the above Question, the following information is given -

A scuba diver descended at a rate of 312 yards every 5 minutes from the surface of the water.

To find -

What was the depth of the diver after 30 minutes?

Solution -

Here,

A scuba diver descended at a rate of 312 yards every 5 minutes from the surface of the water.

So,

Let us assume that the surface of the water has 0 depth i.e, is at sea level.

Now,

Refer to the above-attached figure.

Here,

Every 5 minutes, this driver descends a length of 312 yards.

Now,

In 30 minutes,

Length descended by the diver -

=> 312 × 6 yards

=> 1892 yards .

Thus, the diver descends a length of 1892 yards below sea level in 30 minutes.

This is the required answer.

________

Additional Information -

1 yard = 0.914 metres approximately .

1 meter = 1.094 yards approximately.

Speed = [ Distance / Time ]

Velocity = [ Displacement / Time ]

Displacement < Distance

1 minuite = 60 seconds
