Time period of  a pendulum= 2×π×√(l÷g)

Where π = 22÷7

l= length of the string

g=acceleration due to gravity.

When the pendulum has only acceleration due to gravity g effective= g

In this case the pendulum is placed in a lift , which in turn has a acceleration= g÷2

Therefore g effective= g -g÷2

                                  =  g÷2

So the time period T = 2×π× √(l÷(g÷2))
