Correct question :

A sector of 120, cut out from a circle, has an area of 66/7 cm². Find the radius of the circle?

Options :

A) 1

B) 2

C) 3

D) 4

Answer :

Option c ( 3 ) is correct.

Solution :

It is given that,

  • Area of sector = 66/7 cm²
  • Sector is of 120°

we know that,

Area of sector = given angle/360°  × πr²

Substitute the given values. we get,

⇒ 120/360 × 22/7  × r² = 66/7

⇒ 1/3 × r² = 66/7 × 7/22

⇒ 1/3  × r² = 3/1

⇒ r² = 3 × 3

⇒ r² = 9

∴ r = 3 cm
