The information given to us,
Marked Price ( MP ) = 25% more than Cost Price ( CP )
Discount percentage ( d % ) = 10 %
Profit made ( P ) = ₹ 75
Let the CP be ₹ x.
According to the question,
MP = 25% more than CP
MP = x + 25x/100
MP = 125x / 100
MP = 5x / 4
Hence,
SP = MP - 10% of MP
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 10 % of 5x / 4 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 10 / 100 * 5x / 4 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 5 / 20 * x / 2 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 1 / 4 * x / 2 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( x / 8 )
SP = ( 10x - x ) / 8
SP = 9x / 8
But,
Profit = ₹ 75
SP - CP = ₹ 75
( 9x / 8 ) - ( x ) = ₹ 75
( 9x - 8x ) / 8 = ₹ 75
x = ₹ 75 * 8
x = ₹ 600
Hence,
Cost Price = ₹ 600
Marked Price ( MP ) = 25% more than Cost Price ( CP )
Discount percentage ( d % ) = 10 %
Profit made ( P ) = ₹ 75
Let the CP be ₹ x.
According to the question,
MP = 25% more than CP
MP = x + 25x/100
MP = 125x / 100
MP = 5x / 4
Hence,
SP = MP - 10% of MP
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 10 % of 5x / 4 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 10 / 100 * 5x / 4 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 5 / 20 * x / 2 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( 1 / 4 * x / 2 )
SP = ( 5x / 4 ) - ( x / 8 )
SP = ( 10x - x ) / 8
SP = 9x / 8
But,
Profit = ₹ 75
SP - CP = ₹ 75
( 9x / 8 ) - ( x ) = ₹ 75
( 9x - 8x ) / 8 = ₹ 75
x = ₹ 75 * 8
x = ₹ 600
Hence,
Cost Price = ₹ 600
