8% of 20000 is 1600.
5% of 16000 is 800.
1600 + 800 = 2400 is off.
SP of A = 36000 - 2400
             = 33600

7%of 36000 is 2520.
2520 is off.
SP of B = 36000 - 2520
             = 33480

Answer:

A_A=33600

A_B=33480

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A sells a car priced at ₹ 36000 he gives a discount of 8% on the first ₹20000 and 5% on remaining ₹16000. B also sells a car of the same make priced at ₹ 36000 he gives a discount of 7% on the total price.

To find : Calculate the actual price charged by A and B for the cars?

Solution :

A sells an article priced at Rs.36,000.

He gives discount of 8% on the first Rs 20,000 .

And he gives discount of 5% on the remaining Rs 16,000.

According to question,

Discount of first 20000,

\frac{8}{100}\times 20000=1600

Discount of remaining 16000,

\frac{5}{100}\times 16000=800

Total discount = 1600+800 = Rs.2400

Actual price charged by A is

A_A= 36000 - 2400\\A_A=33600

Now, B also sells another article of same kind priced in Rs.36,000

He give a discount of 7% on the total price.

So Discount is

\frac{7}{100}\times 36000=2520

So, Actual prize charged by B is

A_B= 36000 - 2520\\A_A=33480
