Given = A sells an article priced at Rs.36,000.

He gives discount of 8% on the first Rs 20,000 .
And he gives discount of 5% on the remaining Rs 16,000.

A.T.Q.

Discount of first 20000
  = 8/100 × 20000 = 1600

Discount of remaining 16000
 = 5/100 × 16000 =   800

  Total  =   Rs 2400

Therefore , actual price charged by A = 36,000 - 2400 = Rs 33, 600.

Now B also sells another article of same kind priced in Rs.36,000
He give a discount of 7% on the total price.
So Discount = 7/100 ×36000 = Rs 2520.

Therefore actual prize charged by B = 36000 - 2520 = Rs 33,480.

Answer:

ans = 33,980

Step-by-step explanation:

MP = rs 3600

Discount = 8% on 20,000

8/100 * 20,000 =Rs 1600

20,000 - 16000 =Rs18400

5% on 16,000

5/100 *16000 =Rs 800

16000 -800 =Rs 15,200

SP for A = 18400+15200 = Rs 33, 600

for B= MP. = Rs = 36000

discount = 7% on 3600

7/100*3600 =Rs 2520

30,000 -2520= Rs 33, 980

The Actual Price Charged by A and B for the cars = Rs 33,980
