A semicircular region circumscribes a circle which symmetrically fits into it. If a dice is rolled inside the semicircular part only what is the probability that the dice will fall in the circular region

Answer:

Radius of semi - circular piece =14 cm

Circumference of semi - circle = πr=722×14

=44 cm

∴ Circumference of base of cone =44 cm

⇒2πR=44cm⇒R=2×2244×7=7cm

Radius of semi - circular sheet = slant height of conical cup ⇒l=14cm

Now, R2+h2=l2⇒72+h2=142⇒h=196−49=147=73cm

∴ Capacity of cup =31πR2h=31×722×7×7×73=622.3cm3
