Given : a sequence of numbers is formed by the iterative process xₙ₊₁=(xₙ)²+xₙ

To Find :  Describe the sequence of numbers when x₁=1

Solution:

xₙ₊₁ = (xₙ)² + xₙ

x₁=1

n = 1

=> x₂ = (x₁)² + x₁

Substitute x₁=1

=> x₂ = 1² + 1

=> x₂  = 2

n = 2

=> x₃ = (x₂)² + x₂

Substitute x₂=2

=> x₃ = 2² + 2

=> x₃  = 6

n = 3

=> x₄ = (x₃)² + x₃

Substitute x₃=6

=> x₄ =6² + 6

=> x₄  = 42

Sequence of numbers is

1 ,  2 ,  6 ,  42  and  so on
