A serial killer kidnapped people and made them take 1 of 2 pills: one was harmless, and the other was poisonous. Whichever pill a victim took, the serial killer took the other one. The victim took their pill with water and died. The killer survived.

How did the killer always get the harmless pill?

This is a tricky riddle to solve .

Clue - 1 : The two pills which were consumed by the both.

The two pills were taken by the both. One was harmless and other was harmful. We cannot conclude that the harmful one was taken by the victim. Because they are two possibilities.

Clue - 2 : The victim drank water along with pill.

In the above question the line where we can find the answer is The victim took their pill with water and died

We can conclude from the above clue is that the poison was in the water but not in the pills. The both pills were harmless.
