Answer:

Cost of the shirt is 4000

Explanation:

Given,

Monthly wage of a servant is 10,000 and one shirt

However he works only half of the month and gets paid 3,000 and one shirt.

Find the cost of the shirt.

Let the cost of shirt be \rm Rs. x

Then, his monthly wage is :-

\rm = Rs. \: (10000 + x)

Now,

He works only for half of the month

And gets paid 30,000 and one shurt.

Wage of the servant for half of the month is :-

\rm = Rs. \: (3000 + x)

According to the question,

\rm \implies half \: of \: (10000 + x) = (3000 + x)

\rm \implies \dfrac{1}{2} \: of \: (10000 + x) = (3000 + x)

\rm \implies \dfrac{1}{2} \: \times \: (10000 + x) = (3000 + x)

 \rm \implies \: (10000 + x) = 2(3000 + x)

 \rm \implies \: 10000 + x = 6000 + 2x

 \rm \implies \: 10000 - 6000 = 2x - x

 \rm \implies \: 4000 = x

Cost of the shirt is Rs. 4000
