SOLUTION

GIVEN

The set A has 5 elements.

TO DETERMINE

The maximum number of relation on A

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the set A has 5 elements.

∴ n(A) = 5

We know that a relation on A is a subset of A × A

Now n(A × A)

= n(A) × n(A)

= 5 × 5

= 25

Hence the required maximum number of relation on A

= Number of subsets of A × A

 \sf{ =  {2}^{25} }
