We call it as Program.

Programming language is used to give set of instruction to computer.

Compiler is used to translate the programming language in machine language so that computer can understand what set of instruction it has got.

CyberAkay: The correct answer in simple words is SOFTWARE.
ashwin456ojha: but software is made up of Program. i think Program is correct , "SOFTWARE" too! let me know what you think?
CyberAkay: See, basically program is a set of instructions written specifically for CPU, whereas software is a generic terms used to refer to all the instructions to the CPU or to the hardware.
CyberAkay: basically program can be treated as a subset or a part of software
VemugantiRahul: Software is the collection of programmes(Instruction) that allows the hardware to do its job.
