• A shark swims due East for a distance of 8.9 km, turns around and goes due West for 2.8 km,
and finally turns around again and heads 5.7 km due East.
(a) What is the total distance travelled by the shark?
(b) What is the displacement of the shark?​

a) Add all of them together - Answer will come as 17.4 km
b) 8.9 - 5.7 = 3.2 km is the displacement
