Answer:
Frank was born Annelies Marie Frank, in Frankfurt, Germany, on June 12, 1929. Her father, Otto Frank, was a successful Jewish businessman in Frankfurt, where Anne and her older sister Margot, had a comfortable and happy childhood. Having witnessed an increasing amount of anti-Semitic sentiment in Germany following the end of the First World War, Otto moved his family to Amsterdam in 1934, following a Nazi decree that made it illegal for Jewish and non-Jewish children to attend the same schools. For Anne and her sister, life continued normally in Amsterdam, even following the German invasion of Holland in 1940
