A sheep ate away all the leaves of a balsam planthowever,in a few days leaves could be seen sprouting in the plant again.how did the plant survive without leaves?

- Plants can easily survive if there are no leaves for a few days. The food stored in the stems and roots acts as a supplement and help them to fulfill the food requirement when the leaves are absent. For the gaseous exchange it makes use of lenticels of stem.
