A Sheet is 11 cm long and 2 cm wide. Circular pieces 0.5 cm in diameter are cut from it to prepare discs. Calculate the number of discs that can be prepared.

Breadth, b=2cm
Therefore area of rectangle =11*2
=22cm^2
Area of squares cut out = 0.5*0.5=0.25
Therefore number of circles =22/25*100
=88
Therefore the number of circles cut =88
