A sheet is 11cm long and 2cm wide. Circular pieces 0.5cm in diameter are cut from it to prepare discs. Calculate the number of discs that can be prepared. (Hint First we have to cut squares of side 0.5cm)

88.Area of sheet=22cm sq.Area of small square sheet with side 0.5cm=0.25 cm sq.Square sheets that can be cutted out = Area of sheet/Area of small square sheet = 88.Thus no.of discs that can be prepared is 88.
