Question:-

A sheet of paper measures 25 cm by 20 cm. A strip 2 cm wide is cut from it all around. Find the area of the remaining sheet and also the area of the strip cut out.

Solution:-

Area of sheet of paper =35×25=875cm ²

Area of piece cut out= [25×5×2+(35−10)×5×2]cm²

Area of remaining portion:-

=875cm² −500cm²

=375cm²

Therefore:-

375cm² is the Correct Answer.

{Question:-}

A sheet of paper measures 25 cm by 20 cm. A strip 2 cm wide is cut from it all around. Find the area of the remaining sheet and also the area of the strip cut out.

{Solution:-}

length of the sheet of paper = 25 cm

breadth of the sheet of paper = 20 cm

area of the paper= l × b = 25 × 20= 500 square cm.

width of the strip cut around = 2 cm

the length of remaining paper will be = 21 cm.

the breadth of remaining paper will be = 16 cm.

area of the remaining paper= l × b = 21 × 16 = 336 sq cm.

area of strip= area of original paper - area of remaining paper .

= 500 - 336

= 164 sq cm

{Final Solution:-}

= 164 sq cm
