Answer:

Depth of the sea =750m

Explanation:

Given :

Time taken by a ship to hear an echo = 4 seconds

Speed of sound in water is = 1500m/s

To find : The depth of the water beneath the ship ?

Step by step answer :

Assume depth of water beneath the ship = 'n'

The sound needs to trip very cheap of the ocean and obtain mirrored back to the ship itself, therefore total distance traveled by the sound is 2n.

So, 2n = vt

2n = 1500 × 4n = 3000m

So the depth of water beneath the ship is 3000m

Note :-

Echo - An echo is a sound caused by the reflection of sound waves from a surface back to the perceiver. it's the reflection of sound, incoming at the perceiver it slow when the direct sound.
