Answer
- Acceleration , a = 0 m/s²
Given
- A ship is moving at a speed of 56 km/h . one second later , it is moving at 56 km/h
To Find
- Acceleration
Formula Used
- Acceleration is defined as rate of change in velocity
Solution
Initial velocity , u = 56 km/h = 56 × ⁵/₁₈ m/s = 15.56 m/s
Time , t = 1 s
Final velocity , v = 56 km/h = 15.56 m/s
Acceleration , a = ? m/s²
We have observed that initial and final velocities are same .
That is nothing but constant velocity .
- For a constant velocity , acceleration is zero .

Solution :
We know that acceleration of body is Change in velocity /Time
According to the question the initiall velocity 0f the body is 56km/hr and the final velocity is also 56 km/hr
And time taken by ship= 1s,
Acceleration=v-u/t
=> final velocity -initiall velocity/Time
=> 56km/hr-56km/hr/1s
=> 0km/hr²
