A ship of mass 3*10^7 initially at rest is pulled by a force of 5*10^4 N through a distance of 3 m. Assume that resistance due to water is negligible so the speed of the ship is?

F = 5*10^4 N. m= 3*10^7 kg. s = 3m.

a = F/m = 5 * ^4 / 3 * ^7
= 1/600 m/sec^2

v^2 = u^2 + 2 a s
= 0 + 2* 3/600
v = 0.10 m/s.
