Distance ( d ) = ?

Time ( t ) = 3.42 s

Velocity ( V ) = 1531m/s

d = Vt / 2

d = 1531 × 3.42 / 2

d = 2618•01 m

Given : -

  • Time taken(t) = 3.42 sec.
  • Speed of ultrasound(v) = 1531 m/s

To Find : -

  • Distance(d) travelled by the ultrasound = ?

Distance travelled by the ultrasound : -

⇒2 × depth of sea = 2d

On Substituting Values : -

⇒2d = speed of sound × time

⇒2d = 1531 m/s × 3.42 sec.

⇒d = 5236m/2

⇒d = 2618 m.

➙Thus , the Distance of the seabed from ship is 2618m ...
