Answer:

Given:

\textsf{First ship travels 2760 km in = 9 days 14 hours}

\textsf{Another ship travels 405 km in = 18 hours}

To find:

Compare the speed of both the ship

Concept:

First convert 9 days 14 hours in hours . Then , divide the hours with the total distance travelled .

It will come the speed of both the ship of one hour . After that compare the speed of both the ships .

Convert in hours:

( 1 day = 24 hours )

So , 9 days = 9 × 24 = 216

Now , do sum of 216 hours by 14 hours

= 216 + 14 = 230 hours

Solution:

Speed of first ship at km / hr:

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{2760\:km\:÷\:230\:hr}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{12\:km/hr}

So , the speed of first ship in km/hr is 12 km/hr .

Speed of another ship at km / hr:

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{405\:km\:÷\:18\:hours}

\:\:\:\:\:\:\:\implies{22.5\:km/hr}

So , the speed of second ship in km/hr is 22.5 km/hr.

Comparision :

So , the second ship is faster than the first one .

It is 10.5 km/hr faster than the first ship .

Answer:

Second ship is faster than the first ship .

It is 10 .5 km/hr faster than the first one .

Extra information:

To find km/hr into m/s:

Speed\:in\:m/s=\frac{5}{18}×Speed\:in\:km/hr

To find m/s into km/hr:

Speed\:in\:km/hr=\frac{18}{5}×Speed\:in\:m/s

To find velocity:

Velocity =\frac{Displacement}{Time}
