Given:

distance travelled by sound one time = 2900 metres and the sound comes back so 2d = 2900 × 2 = 5800 metres(2d)

Time taken by the sound to reach ship(t) = 4 secs

The speed of sound in water (s) = ?

So the Solution is:

formula s = 2d/t

s = 5800 / 4

s = 1450m/s

Hope it helps to you
