A shop keeper allows a discount of 10% on the marked price of an item but charges a sales tax of 8% on the discounted price. If the customer pays Rs. 3,402 as the price including the sales tax, then the marked price. every one like my art answer.​

Let Mark price was 100.

After 10% discount it becomes,

100 - 10% of 100 = 90.

Now,

SP = 90 + 8% of 90 = 97.2.

SP is given as 3402.

So,

97.2 = 3402

1 = 3402/97.2

100 = (3402 *100)/97.2 = 3500.

So, Marked Price was Rs. 3500.

Alternatively, (go through option)

3500 ===10% discount ==> 3150 === 8% sale tax ===> 3402.

Note: You can take marked price as X instead of 100 in first method.
