The shop sells chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice creams.

Now,

  • Number of chocolate ice cream = 200
  • Number of vanilla ice cream = 42
  • Number of strawberry ice cream = 50

Total number of ice cream the shop sells in a day = 200 + 42 + 50

Total number of ice cream the shop sells in a day= 292

Now the percentage of chocolate ice cream is

\bf =\dfrac{Number\ of\ chocolate\ ice\ cream}{Total\ number\ of\ ice\ cream} \times 100

\bf =\dfrac{200}{292} \times 100

= 68.49%

Hence,

The per cent of ice creams were chocolate is 68.42%

Answer:

Given :-

  • A shop sells 200 chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice-cream in a day.
  • 42 of them were vanilla, 50 were strawberry.

To Find :-

  • What percent of the ice-cream were chocolate.

Solution :-

Given :

  • Total number of Chocolate = 200
  • Total number of Vanilla = 42
  • Total number of Strawberry = 50

First, we have to find the total number of ice-cream does shopkeeper sells :

 \implies \sf Total\: no\: of\: ice-cream =\: Chocolate\: +\: Vanilla\: +\: Strawberry \\

 \implies \sf Total\: no\: of\: ice-cream =\: 200 + 42 + 50\\

 \implies \sf Total\: no\: of\: ice-cream =\: 242 + 50\\

 \implies \sf\bold{\green{Total\: no\: of\: ice-cream =\: 292}}\\

Hence, the total number of ice-cream is 292 .

Now, we have to find the percentage of the ice-cream were Chocolate :

As we know that :

 \longmapsto \sf\boxed{\bold{\pink{Total\: \%\: of\: chocolate\: ice-cream =\: \dfrac{Number\: of\: Chocolate\: ice-cream}{Total\: no\: of\: ice-cream} \times 100}}}\\

Given :

  • Number of Chocolate ice-cream = 200
  • Total no of ice-cream = 292

According to the question by using the formula we get,

 \implies \sf Total\: \%\: of\: chocolate\: ice-cream =\: \dfrac{200}{292} \times 100\\

 \implies \sf Total\: \%\: of\: chocolate\: ice-cream =\: \dfrac{\cancel{20000}}{\cancel{292}}\\

 \implies \sf\bold{\red{Total\: \%\: of\: chocolate\: ice-cream =\: 68.49\: \%}}\\

\therefore The total percentage of Chocolate ice-cream is 68.49%.
