Answer:

lets say he wants to buy 2 pens and 2 files.

you should divide the amount if the files by the number of files

Step-by-step explanation:

2 pens = $8

2 files = $15 ÷ 3

15/3 = 3

3 = 1 file

now we want 2 files. so,

3×2 = 6

2 files = $6

$8 ( for the pens) + $6 = $14

he has to pay $14 if he wants to buy the equal amount of pens and files

Answer:

cost of 1 pen be x.

8 ÷ 2 =4

so cost 1 pan is 4.

cost of 1 files be y

15÷3=5.

so cost of 1 files is 5.

If he want to by 2 pens and 2 files,

pens,

4 ×2 =8

files,

5×2=10

total amount is

8+10=18

The student must pay 18 rupees .
