Answer:

The discount should be increased by 6%

Step-by-step explanation:

Rs. 10170 is comes with 30% VAT, then the amount without tax will be

\implies 10170\times\frac{100}{130}=7823

The amount 7823/- comes with 20% profit, Then the cost price should be

\implies 7823\times\frac{100}{120}=6519.23\\$Now to make a profit of 12\% the selling price should be$\\\\\implies 6519.23\times\frac{112}{100}=7301.54

Now the marked price was \implies 7823\times\frac{100}{90}=8692.22 $ as 10\% discount was added$

Now the discount is \frac{8692.22-7301.54}{8692.22}\times100=\frac{1390.68}{8692.22}\times100 = 16\%

\therefore $The discount was increased by (16 -10) = 6\%$

From the given question the correct answer is :

The discount should be increased by 6%

Solution:

Rs. 10170 is comes with 30% VAT, then the amount without tax will be

=> 10170×=7823

The amount 7823/- comes with 20% profit, Then the cost price should be

7823×\frac{100}{120}=6519.23

now ,to make a profit of 12%.the selling price should be ,

6519.23×\frac{112}{100}=7301.54

Now the marked price was =>7823×=8692.22 as 10% discount was added

Now the discount is

\frac{8692.22 × 7350.54}{8692.22}×100=\frac{1390.68}{8692.22} ×100=16 %

the discount was increased by (16-10)=6%
