Given that

Discount = 8 %

Profit = 15 %

Solution

Let the CP of the article be ₹x. Then,

A.T.Q,

x + 15 % of x = 460

=> x + 15/100 × x = 460

=> x + 3x/20= 460

=> 20x + 3x/20 = 460

=> 23x/20 = 460

=> x = 460 × 20/23

=> x = 400

Hence , the CP of the article is ₹400.

given : Shopkeeper earns a profit of 15% .

x  + 15 % of x  =  460

⇒x + 15 x/100 = 460
⇒x + 3 x/20 = 460
⇒23 x/20 = 460
⇒x= 460 ×20/23
⇒x= 20 ×20
⇒x=400

Cost price of goods  = Rs . 400
