Given :   a shopkeeper bought 100 bed covers for Rs 2000 each. Due to some calculation mistake, he  soId 10 bed covers at Rs 1200 each.

To find : at what rate should he sell the remaining. So as to have a

profit of 14% on the whole.

Solution:

Bed cover cost price = Rs 2000

Bed covers bought = 100

Total Cost price = 2000 * 100  = 200000 Rs

14 % profit = (14/100)200000 = 28000 Rs

Total Selling price = 200000 + 28000 = 228000 Rs

10 Bed covers sold for Rs 1200 each = 10 * 1200 = Rs 12000

Remaining sold for = 228000 - 12000  = 216000 Rs

Remaining bed covers = 100 - 10 = 90

rate he should  sell the remaining.  = 216000/90

= 2400  Rs

He should sell remaining bed covers for Rs 2400 each
