Correct Question :-

A shopkeeper bought 20 dozen Bananas at the rate of Rs.5 per dozen. Of these 2 dozen were rotten. The rest were sold at the rate of Rs.7 per dozen. What this profit.

Given :-

  • A shopkeeper bought 20 dozen Bananas at the rate of Rs.5 per dozen.
  • Of these 2 dozen were rotten.

To Find :-

  • What's the profit.

Solution :-

  • Cost of one dozen banana is 5 rs

As we know that 2 dozen is rotten.

Dozens of banana left = 20 - 2 = 18

So,

Cost price of 20 dozen banana is 20 × 5 = 100 Rs.

lets find out the selling price of 18 dozen banana.

We know selling price of one banana is 7 rs

Therefore,

Selling price of 18 dozen banana

= 18 × 7 = 126 Rs.

Profit = Selling price - Cost price

S. P = 126 RS

C. P = 100

Now, putting the values in above formula

126 - 100. = 26Rs

The shopkeeper got profit of 26 Rs
