Answer: 20 kg = 20×60 = Rs 1200. Now, 5kg at Rs 72 per kg, 5×72 = Rs 360. 8×70 = Rs 560.

Cost of 1 kg tea = Rs. 60

Cost of 20 kg tea = Rs. 60 × 20

Cost Price C.P. = Rs. 1,200

He now sold 5 kg tea at Rs. 72 per kg

= Rs. 72 × 5

= Rs. 360

Then he sells 8 kg of tea at Rs. 70 per kg

= Rs. 70 × 8

= Rs. 560

Then he sells the remaining [ 20 - (5+8) ] at Rs. 55 per kg

= Rs. 55 × 7

= Rs. 385

Selling Price S.P. = Rs. 360 + Rs. 560 + Rs. 385

= 1,305

•°• He had some gain (If S.P. > C.P. it is gain / profit)

Profit = S.P. - C.P.

= Rs. 1,305 - 1,200

= Rs. 105

Profit % = (Profit / C.P.) × 100 %

= (Rs. 105 / Rs. 1,200) × 100 %

= 105/12 %

= 8.75 %

•°• Profit % = 8.75%
