Answer:  The remaining balls should be sold at Rs. 48

Step-by-step explanation:

Total balls = 30

CP of one ball = Rs. 40

Total CP = 30 x 40 = Rs. 1200

If  40% is the profit on whole transaction then SP is

SP = CP+ 40\% of CP = 1200+ 40\% \text { of } 1200= 1200+\dfrac{40}{100} \times 1200= Rs. 1480

Now He sold 20 balls at the cost of 50

Therefore he get= 20 x 50 =1000

So 10 remaining balls should be sold for  Rs . 480  to get 40% profit on whole transaction

SP of ball should be = \dfrac{480}{10} = Rs. 48

Hence, the remaining balls should be sold at Rs. 48
