He got 20% loss by one fan, which is given by 20/100*1000= 200
Therefore he got loss of 200 by one fan
To earn 200 from other four fans
200/4=50
So remaining 4fans has to sold at the price of 1050

sprao534: suppose he sold 4 fans at the rate of 1050,he can get 4200+for defective 800.total he can get 5000.it is equivalent to cost price. where is the profit?

CP of all is 5000

one sold for 800

all for 4x then

20%profit is 6000

already sold

of800then left is
4200

to get by selling 4fabs

each one is 1050/-

that means 1050rupees for each fan

sprao534: suppose he sold 4 fans at the rate of 1050,he can get 4200 and defective fan for 800.total he can get 5000.that is equivalent to cost price. where is the profit.
