let total number of pen to sold is 70.
total buing cost =100
40 % profit
selling price=140
₹140 for 70 pen
then ₹10 for 10×70/140=5
answer=5 pen

Answer:

The number of pens customer would get for Rs 10 is 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

The cost price of 7 pens = Rs 10

∴ The cost price of 1 pen = Rs \dfrac{10}{7}

Now, Profit percentage for selling the pen = 40%

profit % = \dfrac{sp-cp}{cp}

or, 40% = \frac{sp}{cp} - 1

or, \frac{40}{100} + 1 =  \frac{sp}{cp}

or, \frac{100+40}{100} =  \frac{sp}{cp}

or, \frac{140}{100} =  \frac{sp}{cp}

or, sp = \frac{140\times cp}{100}

or, sp = \frac{140}{100} × \frac{10}{7}

∴ sp = Rs 2

So, Selling price of each pen is Rs 2

Now, number of pens = \frac{Total money}{each pen selling price}

i.e number of pens = \frac{10}{2} = 5

Hence The number of pens customer would get for Rs 10 is 5 . Answer
