Cost Price(CP) of 12 pencils (a dozen) = 120 rupees

Cost Price (CP) of one pencil = 120/12 = 10 rupees

Selling Price (SP) of 2 Pencils = 16 rupees

Selling Price (SP) of one pencil = 16/2 = 8 rupees

Now,

Loss = CP - SP

Loss on one pencil = 10-8 = 2 rupees

loss on 2 pencils = 2 rupees x 2 = 4 rupees
