The cost price of the radio which sold at loss is Rs. 648.

Explanation

A shopkeeper bought two radio for Rs. 1008

Suppose, the cost price of the first radio is  x rupees

So, the cost price of the second radio will be:  (1008-x) rupees.

The shopkeeper sold the first radio at a loss of 20% . So, the selling price of first radio will be:  (x-0.20x)rupees = 0.80x rupees.

He sold the second radio at a profit of 44%. So, the selling price of the second radio will be:  [(1008-x)+0.44(1008-x)] rupees.

As he sold both radio at same price, so the equation will be......

0.80x=(1008-x)+0.44(1008-x)\\ \\ 0.80x=1008-x+443.52-0.44x\\ \\ 0.80x= 1451.52-1.44x\\ \\ 0.80x+1.44x=1451.52\\ \\ 2.24x=1451.52\\ \\ x=\frac{1451.52}{2.24}=648

So, the cost price of the radio which sold at loss is Rs. 648.
