Solution:-
Let the printed price of the washing machine be Rs. x
Sales Tax 7 % of x = 7x/100
Selling Price = x + 7x/100 = 107x/100
Now, according to the question.
107x/100 = 36000
107x = 3600000
x = 3600000/107
x = 33644.85 or 33645
Printed Price of the washing machine = Rs. 33645
Now, Rebate of 30 % on printed price = 33645*30/100
= Rs. 10093
Price after rebate = 33645 - 10093 = Rs. 23552
Transportation cost = Rs. 400
Actual cost price = 23552 + 400 = Rs. 23992
Profit = Printed price - Actual cost price
= 33645 - 23992
Profit = Rs. 9653
Profit percentage = (Profit*100)/Actual cost price
= (9653*100)/23992
Profit = 40.234 %
